Google Search Console

The free SEO tool your AI-built site is probably missing

Most sites built on Lovable, Replit, Bolt or v0 launch without Google Search Console connected. That means Google is crawling your site with no way to tell you what it's found, what it can't read, or why your pages aren't showing up in search. Here's what you're missing.

01 — The basics

What is Google Search Console?

Google Search Console (GSC) is a free tool from Google that acts as a direct line of communication between your website and Google's search engine. Once it's properly connected to your site, Google can tell you exactly what it sees when it crawls your pages — and flag anything that's stopping your site from ranking.

It shows you

  • Which pages on your site Google has found and indexed
  • Which pages it tried to crawl but couldn't read properly
  • What search terms people are using to find you
  • How many times your site appeared in search — and how many people clicked
  • Any technical errors Google has flagged on your site

Without it, you're effectively guessing. You can make changes to your site and have no idea whether Google has noticed them, whether your pages are actually appearing in search, or whether there's a crawl error silently blocking your entire site from being indexed.

02 — The risk

Why AI-built sites are most at risk without it

Platforms like Lovable, Replit, and Bolt are built to help you launch quickly. Connecting your site to Google Search Console isn't part of that launch process — it's something you have to do separately, and it has to be done correctly.

Google doesn't know your site exists

Without a verified property and a submitted sitemap, Google has to discover your site on its own — which can take months, or might not happen at all for a newer domain.

Errors go unnoticed

A misconfigured robots.txt — one of the most common issues on AI-built sites — can tell Google not to crawl your pages. Your site looks fine to you. Google simply isn't reading it.

You can't see what's working

Once your fixes are in place, GSC is how you know they're working — indexed pages climbing, impressions growing, keywords appearing. Without it, you have no signal at all.

Lovable's built-in SEO scanner will flag that GSC isn't fully set up. What it won't do is connect it, verify it, and configure it correctly for you.

03 — The reports

What Google Search Console actually shows you

Coverage report

The most important place to start. It tells you which pages are indexed, which are excluded, and which have errors. An excluded page exists but Google has decided not to show it. An error means Google tried to crawl the page and couldn't. Both need attention.

Performance report

Your search data over time — impressions (how often your site appeared in results), clicks, average position, and which queries triggered your pages. This is where you start to see your SEO working.

Sitemaps section

Shows whether your sitemap has been submitted and whether Google was able to read it. A sitemap that can't be read means Google is finding your pages on its own — slower, less reliable, and easy to fix once it's diagnosed.

URL Inspection

Check any individual page and see exactly how Google sees it — whether it's indexed, when it was last crawled, and whether there are any issues.

The problem isn't connecting GSC. It's knowing what to do with what it tells you. Most of the errors it surfaces — crawl blocks, sitemap failures, indexing issues — require changes inside your site's code to fix. That's what we do →

04 — The cost

What bad GSC setup actually costs you

The most common scenario we see: a site owner connects GSC, sees a list of errors, has no idea what they mean, and closes the tab. The errors stay. The pages don't get indexed. The site doesn't rank.

GSC is a diagnostic tool. It tells you what's wrong. It doesn't fix anything. And for most of the issues it surfaces on AI-built sites — robots.txt blocking crawlers, sitemaps that can't be read, pages excluded for technical reasons — the fix requires getting into your site's code and configuration.

That's exactly what our audit covers. We check your GSC setup, identify what it's flagging, and implement the fixes directly inside your builder. No report handed back to you. No guesswork.
