SEO explained simply

What is SEO — and why does your AI-built site need it?

If you've launched a site on Lovable, Replit or Bolt and you're wondering why no one's finding it on Google, this is the page to read first.

SEO stands for Search Engine Optimisation. That sounds technical, but the idea is simple: it's the process of making your website easier for Google (and other search engines) to find, understand, and show to people who are searching for what you offer.

Plain English version: SEO is how you get your website to show up when someone types something related to your business into Google. Without it, your site exists on the internet, but nobody finds it.

Why can't Google just find my site automatically?

Google uses software called "crawlers" (sometimes called spiders or bots) that travel around the internet following links and reading web pages. When a crawler visits your site, it needs certain signals to understand what your site is about, which pages matter most, and how to index them properly.

AI site builders like Lovable, Replit, and Bolt are designed to help you build and launch quickly. That's brilliant. But they often leave out the technical signals Google needs — things like a sitemap, schema markup, or a properly configured robots.txt file.

Without those signals, Google either can't find your site, misunderstands it, or chooses not to index it at all. That means zero visibility in search results, no matter how good your product is.

What does SEO actually involve?

SEO has three main areas:

For a brand new AI-built site, technical SEO is almost always the first and most urgent thing to fix. You can have brilliant content but if Google can't crawl your site properly, none of it matters.

What does Lovable's SEO tool actually do?

Lovable recently added a built-in SEO scan powered by Semrush. It checks a few basics — your page title, whether a sitemap exists, whether your social previews look right. That's genuinely useful.

But it doesn't do schema markup, it doesn't connect and verify your Google Search Console, it doesn't fix Core Web Vitals, and it doesn't implement anything inside your codebase — it just gives you a report. The actual fixing is still on you.

That's where AI Builder Rank comes in. We do the fixing, not just the diagnosing.

How long does SEO take to work?

Some changes — like getting your sitemap submitted and your pages indexed — can produce visible results within days. Getting your site to rank well for competitive keywords takes longer, usually 2–6 months, because Google needs time to re-crawl your site, assess the changes, and compare your content with other sites.

That's why we also offer the Care subscription — so you're not doing one fix and hoping for the best, but continuously improving as Google learns to trust your site.
