If you've built your website or app on Lovable, you might have noticed the new SEO section in your project dashboard. It scans your site and gives you a list of things to fix. That's a great start — but it's only part of the picture.
What Lovable's SEO tool actually does
Lovable's built-in SEO scanner (powered by Semrush) checks for a handful of common issues:
- Whether your page title and meta description are set
- Whether form inputs and images have descriptive labels (accessibility / SEO crossover)
- Whether your social preview images are configured
- Whether you have a sitemap and crawler rules
- Whether your homepage is reachable
That's genuinely useful — and better than nothing. Many Lovable sites launch without even these basics in place.
What Lovable's SEO tool doesn't do
Here's where it gets important. Lovable's scanner identifies problems. It doesn't fix them for you, and it misses several things that significantly impact your rankings:
- Schema markup — No LocalBusiness, FAQ, or Article schema is added automatically. This means Google has less context about what your site is and who it's for.
- Google Search Console setup — Lovable won't connect or verify your site with GSC. You have to do this separately, and it's more fiddly than it sounds.
- Core Web Vitals — Image optimisation, font loading strategy, and layout stability aren't addressed. These affect your ranking directly.
- Canonical tags — Lovable doesn't manage duplicate page issues with canonical URLs.
- Monthly monitoring — The scan is a snapshot. There's no ongoing rank tracking or alert system.
Perhaps most importantly: Lovable gives you a report. It doesn't go in and actually fix anything inside your codebase. That's still on you — unless you're working with someone who can do it for you.
What "implemented inside your builder" means
When we say we implement fixes inside your builder, we mean we make the actual changes — in your Lovable project's code and configuration — not just tell you what to do. That includes adding schema markup in the right JSON-LD format, correctly configuring your robots.txt, creating and submitting your sitemap, and connecting Google Search Console properly.
Most Lovable users don't have a developer background — they chose Lovable precisely because they didn't want to write code. We handle the technical implementation so you don't have to.
How to get more out of Lovable's built-in SEO
Even without working with us, there are a few things you can do immediately inside Lovable:
- Set a custom domain — Google trusts custom domains more than yoursite.lovable.app
- Fill in your page title and meta description in Lovable's settings
- Upload a proper social preview image (not a placeholder)
- Run the built-in SEO scan and fix anything flagged as a warning
After that, the remaining gaps — schema, GSC, Core Web Vitals, ongoing monitoring — are where AI Builder Rank comes in.
